Are you fitting in or are you a misfit? To be honest, I still have no clue myself. I’m struggling between being my authentic self (does that even exist?!) or belonging to a group. And I know for sure I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Imagine shopping for something special; something that’s really “you”. After a while, you might find yourself falling in love with a “fab suit” that totally fits your identity. But wait, where did you see this two-piece before? Maybe on your popular hairdresser’s Instagram? Doubt overwhelms you.
You don’t want to look the same as everyone else because -obviously-, you desire uniqueness. But let’s face it: hating the mainstream is no longer a fascination in the fashion world, it’s the only trend you’re supposed to follow to reach your ultimate “cool”.
I ask myself, what is a misfit nowadays? How can you be one? In a world where everybody strives to be as unique and original as possible, I doubt whether uniqueness still exists. However, I still believe I’m one-of-a-kind and will keep on [mis]suiting the era of the wannabe misfits. How? Simply by suiting.
